Biografie

Denis Villeneuve ist ein kanadischer Filmregisseur und Drehbuchautor. Villeneuve begann seine Karriere im Quebecer Kino und inszenierte vier französischsprachige Dramen: Der 32. August auf Erden (1998); Maelström (2000); Polytechnique (2009), eine Dramatisierung des Massakers an der École Polytechnique von 1989; und Die Frau die singt - Incendies (2010). Letzterer brachte ihm internationale Bekanntheit und eine Nominierung für den Oscar als bester internationaler Spielfilm ein. Anschließend erweiterte er sein Spektrum auf englischsprachige Filme und inszenierte die Thriller „Prisoners“ (2013), „Enemy“ (2013) und „Sicario“ (2015).
