Biografía

Roger Alexander Deakins (24 de Mayo de 1949) es un director de fotografía conocido por su trabajo en las películas de los hermanos Coen, Sam Mendes y Denis Villeneuve. Deakins es miembro de la Sociedad Británica y de la Sociedad Americana de Directores de Fotografía. En 2011 recibió el Premio a la Trayectoria de la Sociedad Americana de Directos de Fotografía. Su presidente, Richard Crudo, llamó a Deakins "la preeminencia cinematográfica de nuestra era". En reconocimiento de su destacada contribución a la industria de cine británica, Deakins es un miembro honorario de la Escuela Nacional de Cine de Buckinghamshire, de la cual también fue alumno. En 2013 recibió una Orden del Imperio Británico en el Palacio de Buckingham por "contribuciones al cine". Ha recibido cuatro Premios BAFTA a Mejor Fotografía, así como 14 nominaciones y 2 victorias al Premio de la Academia a Mejor Fotografía. Sus trabajos más conocidos incluyen The Shawshank Redemption (1994), Fargo (1996), A Beautiful Mind (2001), Skyfall (2012), Sicario (2015), Blade Runner 2049 (2017) y 1917 (2019), las dos últimas por las cuales recibió el Oscar.
