Biographie

Matthew George « Matt » Reeves (né le 27 avril 1966 à Rockville Center, New York, États-Unis) est un scénariste, réalisateur et producteur américain. Il a commencé à faire des films à l'âge de huit ans, en dirigeant des amis et en utilisant une caméra mécanique. Reeves s'est lié d'amitié avec le cinéaste J.J. Abrams alors qu'ils avaient tous deux 13 ans et qu'ils réalisaient des courts métrages ensemble. Lorsque Reeves et Abrams avaient 15 ou 16 ans, Steven Spielberg les a engagés pour transférer certains de ses propres films Super 8 sur bande vidéo. Reeves a commencé sa carrière en tant que scénariste pour les films Under Siege 2: Dark Territory (1995) et The Pallbearer (1996), ce dernier marquant ses débuts de réalisateur de long métrage. Il s'est ensuite tourné vers la télévision en tant que réalisateur et co-créateur de la série dramatique Felicity (1998-2002) aux côtés de J.J. Abrams. Keanu Reeves a depuis réalisé le film d'horreur Cloverfield (2008), le film d'horreur romantique Let Me In (2010) et les suites de science-fiction La Planète des singes : L'Affrontement (2014) et La Planète des singes : Suprématie (2017). En février 2017, Warner Bros. a annoncé que Keanu Reeves réaliserait The Batman (2022) de DC, avec Robert Pattinson dans le rôle principal.
